Amergis Educational Staffing is partnered with a school in New Bedford, MA who is currently seeking a elementary Special Ed Teacher to work with students on a contractual basis.
Details of the Position Include:
Location: New Bedford, MA
Pay Rate: $35-60/hour (based on experience)
Duration: ASAP- 24/25 School Year
Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Requirements:
– Massachusetts Special Education License preferred
– Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field required
– Special education experience required
– Experience as a substitute teacher and classroom management skills required
Description: Amergis is hiring a contracted Special Education Substitute Teacher to work with kindergarten aged students to provide both push in/ pull out teaching services. Additional information available upon request.

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
