The Educational Sign Language Interpreter supports staff, students, and families by providing interpretation and translation services for deaf and hearing-impaired students. The interpreter also effectively facilitates communication between students who use sign language due to hearing loss, and students/teachers who do not.
Minimum Requirements:
- State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable)
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Caseload Details: |
This position is an opportunity to support a student who is visually impaired and deaf, and accesses sign language through a limited visual field. Tactile sign language is not required. An ideal candidate is someone flexible, adaptable, and willing to collaborate with a creative and dynamic team of special education and general education staff |
