Position Start Date: ASAP

Salary/Wage: $45,000 – $55,000 per year, based on experience

Terms/Schedule: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday

Appointment Type: Full Time

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cross Classroom Guide (Special Education Teacher) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering the development and growth of young children, particularly those with special needs. While a Birth-3 License is highly desirable, it is not a mandatory requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities for children aged birth to 3 years.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
• Monitor and assess the developmental progress of each child.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about their child’s progress and needs.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
• Provide support to students’ holistic education inside the classroom and beyond.
• Work with Student Services and Lead Guides to create a Montessori-first and Best Practices approach to Special Education interventions and lesson adaptations.
• Work with Student Services and Lead Guides to develop plans for students with exceptionalities that align with the Montessori Method.
• Communicate with Student Services, Lead Guides, and Supporting Educators regarding specific student needs, provide modifications to classroom lessons, and assist with the implementation of modified lessons, as needed.
• Collaborate with Student Services to complete and maintain all documentation and records related to the child’s file.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Experience working with young children, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Birth-3 License (preferred but not required).
