LPN 1 on 1 They will accept an RN Student in 12th grade ECS Classroom Student has a g-tube but does eat both ways. Does not take medication regularly but has seizure meds just in case. Visually impaired, Diagnosis is Batten’s Disease, condition is progressive, marked by central visual acuity and peripheral field loss. Decline in bilateral function, multiple mobility impairments including generalized weakness, poor standing balance, decreased independence with transfers, limited gait, fear of falling, and absent safety awareness. The student is in a wheelchair. Needs Amergisum assistance in the bathroom, showering, and daily self-help skills. The student weighs 84lbs. The nurse must ride the bus with the student per the IEP |

The 1:1 School LPN/LVN identifies and treats healthdisorders among students in the school setting. The 1:1 School LPN/LVN providesinstruction for the student’s general wellbeing and disease prevention. TheSchool LPN/LVN monitors the student’s physical conditions in the school settingand refers the student to appropriate resources as needed. The work of the School LPN/LVN is performedin compliance with his/her LPN/LVN scope of practice and according to stateeducation codes.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current LPN/LVN license for the state in which the nursepractices
- Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
- One year prior professional nursing experience in schoolsetting preferred
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Current BLS card
- Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatment
- Considerable knowledge of child growth and development
- Some knowledge of public health problems and procedures fortreatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies
- Some knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws andregulations affecting the delivery of school health services
- Understands the school organization and the community served
- Must be at least 18 years of age
