School Counselor – Burgaw, NC


Position Details:
  • Must have NC School Counseling license
  • Will be teaching lessons half the day / Classroom guidance the other half of the day
  • Duration: Remainder of SY
  • Hours: 37.5 / week
  • Schedule: 7:30a-2:30p
  • Start Date: 2 weeks after offer made

Job Duties include:
  • Student Support: Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, career, and personal/social development.
  • Program Implementation: Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes student success and aligns with the North Carolina Professional School Counseling Standards and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student achievement and well-being.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for students’ needs and work to remove barriers to learning.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support for students in need.
  • Assessment and Data Use: Use data to assess student needs and evaluate the effectiveness of the counseling program.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in school counseling
