Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking Full timeSpeech-Language Pathologist’s for multiple openings we have available throughoutRhode Island. Pay is $55.00/hr +.
The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible forperforming student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapyservices in accordance with the plan of care developed for each individualstudent and physician’s orders when applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assesses students’ communication skills (e.g. articulations,fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) for the purpose ofidentifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility anddeveloping recommendations for treatment
Collaborates with a variety of groups and/or individuals forthe purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providingservices in compliance with established guidelines
Coordinates meetings and processes for eligible students(e.g. testing/screening, IEPs, parent conferences, pre-referral staffing, etc.)for the purpose of presenting evaluation results, developing treatment plans,and/or providing training to parents/students/staff
Develops treatment plans, interventions and/or educationalmaterials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communicationdisorders in compliance with regulatory requirements
Instructs eligible students in the use of appropriatecommunication technologies (e.g. hearing aids, FM systems, augmentativecommunication devices, etc.) for the purpose of minimizing the adverseeducational impact of communication disorders in accordance with establishedguidelines and legal requirements
Maintains files and/or records (e.g. progress reports,activity logs, billing information, treatment plans, required documentation,quarterly reports, screening results, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring theavailability of information as required for reference and or compliance
Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g.training, IEPs, team meetings, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/orgathering information
Provides speech and language therapy to students for thepurpose of minimizing the adverse impact of speech and language disorders onstudent success
Seeks appropriate in-service and professional development.Works within the policies and regulations of the Governing Board and memberschool districts; state public acts and regulations as described by the StateBoard of Education (ISBE); and applicable Federal laws, regulations andguidelines applicable to the education of students
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
Hold a Professional Educator License as a Speech LanguagePathologist (SLP) in the state of assignment
Demonstrate excellence in verbal and written communications
Experience with collaborative groups and processes in astudent-centered environment
Other qualifications of academic, professional, and personalexcellence as the Governing Board may specify
Must be at least 18 years of age
