Special Education Teachers Needed in Southern California!
We are looking for Special Education Teachers for San Luis Obispo,CA and areas around Southern California including San Diego.
Out of state SPED license can be transferred to CAin 2-3 weeks while you onboard! See below job details & how toget your CA license.
Position Information
- Pay: $2600 ( Out of state candidates)
- Schedule: Monday – Friday
- Hours/Week: 37.5 hours
- Length: 2024/2025 School Year – ASAP or January 2025 Start Date
- Details: Mild/Moderate, On-site, Moderate/Serve available as well. Elementary and Middle Schools.
- Additional Details: Weekly pay, Benefits – Medical/Dental/Vision
- Additional Locations Available: LA & San Diego
Out of State License Transfer to CA
Amergis will request a Temporary County Certificate(TCC) from the school district that hires you.
Your CA license application will be expedited and valid in2-3 weeks (as opposed to the typical 10-14 weeks it takes to transfer licenseto CA).

- Mail application to CA along with the below supporting documents

- A copy of your professional-level out-of-state teaching license authorizing special education teaching.
- Evidence of fingerprint processing.

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
