Schedule Needs:
- Weekdays: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM and/or 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (8-hour shifts)
- Weekends: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM every third weekend (12-hour shifts)
- Holidays: As needed
- Overtime: Possible on an as-needed basis
Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted Alabama state RN license or compact state license
- CPR/BLS certification
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a mental health or psychiatric setting
- Ability to recognize medical and psychiatric emergencies
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to interact with diverse individuals in various situations
- Independent decision-making and moderate risk-taking abilities
- Proficiency in nursing processes, standards of care, and care plans
- Supervisory skills
- Ability to evaluate treatment effectiveness and establish priorities
- Competence in operating medical equipment
- Patient education skills
Responsibilities:
- Promote a therapeutic environment for patient stabilization and growth
- Complete patient assessments
- Plan and implement effective therapeutic programs
- Develop and execute patient care plans
- Supervise program staff
- Communicate effectively with patients and families
- Ensure a safe environment
- Share patient data with team members
- Participate in meetings and training sessions
- Administer medications and treatments
- Provide direct patient care
- Ensure compliance with hospital standards
