Job Title: Primary Care Physician (Full-Time)

Type of Position: Locum Tenens, 1099

Start Date: Within 45 days from start of credentialing

Duration: 6 months with potential to extend

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, daytime hours (either 8 or 10-hour shifts)
  • No holidays, weekends, or nights
  • Full-time only
  • No overtime, call, weekends, evenings, or holidays

Certifications Required:

  • BLS
  • DEA

Licensure:

  • Active Oregon State License

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general medical ambulatory care to all patients at OSH through the Medical Clinic
  • Visit units to see patients unable to be brought to the clinic due to mental illness or physical limitations
  • Interpret specialty recommendations and in-house procedures/studies such as ECG’s and x-rays for unit staff and psychiatrists
  • Perform basic office procedures in accordance with training
  • Provide telephone consultation in general medicine to unit staff and other clinicians
  • Collaborate with unit psychiatrists on preventing metabolic syndrome caused by anti-psychotic medications and treating metabolic complications
  • Assume responsibilities of the medical OD on a weekly rotating basis, including off-grounds telephone availability after regular work hours and on-grounds medical services during holidays and weekends when on duty
  • Refer patients to outside medical specialists as necessary
  • Serve on OSH committees as directed by the Medical and Allied Health Professional Staff Executive Committee
  • Attend Medical Department meetings and education and training seminars
  • Meet with families, other agencies, or the public-at-large to promote and enhance patient care

Patient Demographics:

  • Average of 10-15 patients per day
