Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a contracted Child Welfare Support Specialists to support child welfare units in District 3, which includes Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties.
The Child Welfare Support Specialist assists professional child welfare services staff deliver child welfare services. Responsibilities include after hours’ support, visitation supervision to clients, preparing legal documentation, and participating in court and administrative hearings as needed. Work is performed under limited supervision.
Pay Rate: $22/hour, 40 hours per week.
13 paid holidays per year
Up to 10 days of accrued PTO, based on assignment duration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- As a Child Welfare Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in the support and reunification of families served by the Office of Child and Family Services – Child Welfare division. You will:
- Supervise visits between children and their parents, sit with children in hotel and hospital placement.
- Make referrals to connect children, parents, and family members with needed services.
- Enter documentation into the Child Welfare information system, Katahdin.
- Maintain legal records and serve court paperwork.
- Perform routine data entry tasks and create reports using established databases.
- Perform routine, occasional secretarial duties such as completing work schedules, arranging appointments, travel/lodging, ordering supplies, and reviewing documents to respond to requests.
- Organize, review, and upload drug screens.
- Work may travel within areas served by the local district office.
Minimum Requirements:
- Prior experience working directly with children and families in a social service setting.
- Skilled in the use of standard work-place applications.
Schedule:
This regular working schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, forty (40) hours per week. In-office position.
