Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a certified Sterile Processing Tech to provide services at a renowned hospital in Boston, MA. Travel packages are available! 

Qualifications:

2 years experience as a certified SPD 

Certification through CRCST or CBSPD


Shifts: Monday through Friday, some weekends required. Shift options include:

Days 7am – 3:30pm

Evenings 3pm – 11:30pm 

Nights 11pm – 7:30am


Job Duties:

  • Extensive knowledge regarding processes used in the decontamination, inspection, cleaning, assembling and packaging of medical/surgical material to include, but not limited to, linen, instruments and equipment according to established standards and procedures to ensure a sterile and functioning supply of materials
  • Prepares trays for designated areas according to prescribed procedures
  • Wraps and/or packages items for specified areas according to procedures prescribed for designated areas
  • Must be able to operate bar code instrument tracking system
  • Works with operating room personnel to ensure specialty trays are handled in the prescribed manner
  • Dissembles, cleans, assembles and tests specialty instrumentation and equipment for proper functioning
  • Must be able to differentiate between single-use and reusable items
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and materials to include documenting usage, issuing, receiving and reordering as assigned
  • Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
