Setting: School (K-21)
Pay: Hourly $50/HR
Schedule: Days; Monday – Friday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assesses students’ communication skills (e.g. articulations,fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) for the purpose ofidentifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility anddeveloping recommendations for treatment
- Collaborates with a variety of groups and/or individuals forthe purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providingservices in compliance with established guidelines
- Coordinates meetings and processes for eligible students(e.g. testing/screening, IEPs, parent conferences, pre-referral staffing, etc.)for the purpose of presenting evaluation results, developing treatment plans,and/or providing training to parents/students/staff
- Develops treatment plans, interventions and/or educationalmaterials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communicationdisorders in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Instructs eligible students in the use of appropriatecommunication technologies (e.g. hearing aids, FM systems, augmentativecommunication devices, etc.)
- Maintains files and/or records (e.g. progress reports,activity logs, billing information, treatment plans, required documentation,quarterly reports, screening results, etc.)
- Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g.training, IEPs, team meetings, etc.)
- Provides speech and language therapy to students for thepurpose of minimizing the adverse impact of speech and language disorders onstudent success • Seeks appropriate in-service and professionaldevelopment
- Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in thestate of assignment required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-LanguagePathology (CCC-SLP) preferred and may be required by state/contract.
- Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
- Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
- Computer proficiency required
