$25 – $32/hr
The Caseworker is responsible for helping adults, children and families find and obtain government resources like healthcare services, financial aid or counseling. Duties include meeting with clients to identify their needs, using resources in the government, healthcare and financial service industries to offer assistance to their clients/patients.
LOCATION HOME SITE: VAN NUYS, CA
- Weekly pay
- Monday- Friday
- 8am- 5pm
- MUST have bachelors degree
- 2 year of experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Confirms Medicaid or other insurance eligibility for causality cases
- Obtains additional information required for case start-up from beneficiaries and/or attorneys Intakes referral leads from attorneys, insurance adjusters, and medical providers
- Reviews and research leads regarding potential accident or trauma situations Investigates, research, review, and compile information from multiple sources
- Interfaces with attorneys, insurance adjusters, and medical providers, court staff, personal representatives/executors of estates, and family members
- Prepares necessary correspondence, liens, and other documents
- Works, maintains, and manages active Casualty and/or Estate recovery cases Performs basic legal research; compile various reports
- Reviews medical claims histories
- Files and maintains case history reports
- Interviews client to assess their situational needs and then determines services/resources that are applicable and accessible for client
- Serves as a liaison and advocate between the client and social, financial, health and legal services
- Develops a plan of action to improve client’s overall well-being
- Plans regular follow ups to assess progress and changes in current needs
- Reviews and modifies plans as appropriate based on client circumstantial changes
Minimum Requirements:
- 1+ year’s professional experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Bachelor’s degree in health sciences preferred
- Familiarity with Medicaid rules and regulations preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
- Computer proficiency required
