The LMFT/LCSW provides professionalcounseling services designed in assisting participants in behavior change tomaintain a healthy lifestyle and quality of life through individual and grouptherapy.
Job Details:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides professional counseling services topatients/clients and their families
- May counsel and teach behavior change, stress management,and other program classes, which assist the participants in achievingprescribed objectives
- Administers, interprets, and assesses the results of relatedprogram-administered assessment tests
- Assists with the development of mind/body programming intowellness programs, i.e. cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, weight management
- Provides education to patients and families related toissues that impact patient/client care
- Conducts lectures and participates in community outreachactivities
- Identifies concerns and makes referrals to other specialistswhen needed
- Provides guidance and coaching to staff members working withclients as needed
- Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies andprocedures
- Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work orrelated field preferred
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work,Family Therapy preferred
- Licensed as a Professional Counselor, Marriage and FamilyTherapist (LMFT) as required by state regulations and/or contractspecifications
- One (1) year of experience in counseling preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
- Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
- Computer proficiency required
