The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs directpatient care under the direct supervision of a RN or LPN/LVN or other licensedmedical professional. The CNA/NA performs a variety of individualized patient careactivities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for thepersonal needs and comforts of patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains patient confidentiality of all clients
- Performs duties within scope of practice, as assigned, in anaccurate and timely manner
- Adheres to facility/client policy, procedures and protocolsat all times
- Assists doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers withtreatments, procedures, and tests being performed in a variety of patient caresettings
- Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriateinfection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions
- Notifies the supervising nurse of any abnormal findings orconditions
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting theneeds of all facilities
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Prefer one year experience as a certified nursing assistantwithin the last three years
- Graduate from certified nursing assistant program withsubsequent documentation as a certified nursing assistant per staterequirements with proof of verification as being an active certification and ingood-standing
- Knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of clericalfunctions
- Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
- Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
- Computer proficiency required
