The Behavioral Residential Aide assists in developing the therapeutic program and treatment plan by helping to create a therapeutic environment.  Through direct service, the Residential Aide collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team in achieving the goals of the residential program and the clients who reside there.

Job Title: Behavior Tech/IDD Caregiver

Location: Ramona, CA (initial 2-week training in Poway)

Duration: 6 months (likely to be an ongoing assignment)

Pay Rate: $28 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a Residential Behavior Tech/caregiver within a home for adults with mental disabilities.
  • Assist residents who express a variety of behaviors.
  • Provides behavior management, and reasonable expectations to residents according to facility protocols and individual resident treatment plans
  • Assists in conflict resolution
  • Facilitates each resident gaining insight and understanding of themselves and others through discussion of daily happenings and their progress in coping with the practical experiences and problems of living in the group/functioning in society
  • Assists in supervising residents with housekeeping tasks, hygiene assistance, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months of experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (per state or client requirements)
  • Current valid driver’s license (per state or client requirements)
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site 
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements  
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required  
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
