The Registered Nurse – Under the clinical direction of the Nurse Manager and supervision of the Program Manager, the Clinic RN Lead is responsible for providing nursing leadership, administrative support, and clinical supervision of clinic operations as well as develop and implement strategies that enhance the quality of care.

Primary tasks: Task delegation, staff education and coordination, care coordination, staff coverage and greater interdisciplinary team coordination.

Hours: M-F 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. After the first 6 months, RNs are put into a weekend pool in which they are trained for coverage for a Saturday or a Sunday every month.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates a patient’s health status, estimates the level of health risk and informs/provides feedback to patients to motivate behavior change to reduce health risks
  • Identifies and prioritizes actions based on patient care requirements
  • Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and clinic/site policies
  • Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment
  • Initiates patient and family education when appropriate
  • Documents patient’s responses to nursing care and other interventions as well as follow up recommendations
  • Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment
  • Must have working knowledge of universal precautions
  • Knowledge of protocols for reporting adverse reactions, incidents, and injuries
  • Knowledge of Workers Compensation assessments and reporting if applicable
  • Knowledge of Immunization and Vaccine schedules and safety
  • Administers vaccines or any necessary medications per site/facility protocols
  • Appropriately stores, transports, and handles vaccines 
  • Safely and appropriately transports biological material, sharps, and other required supplies to clinic sites
  • Appropriately handles and disposes of biological waste
  • Completes appropriate participant consent forms and clinic records
  • Inputs information into the client’s database for tracking per policy/protocol and state regulations if applicable

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
  • One year experience as a nurse in a clinic or immunization setting preferred • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site 
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements  
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required  
  • Computer proficiency required 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age 
For this role, new hires generally start $67.04 – $74.48/hr. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates’ qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
