Dental Hygienist - $60/hr

The Dental Hygienist performs as part of a dental healthteam under the supervision of a dentist. Involvement includes clinical dentalwork and education with specific responsibilities governed by the state inwhich the hygienist is employed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleans and polishes a patient’s teeth- removes plaquedeposits and stains
• Applies medication for the prevention of tooth decay
• Takes and develop x-rays
• Makes model impressions of teeth for study or dental devices
• Obtains medical and dental histories and records informationin the patient’s dental record
• Provides instruction for patient self-care, diet, andnutrition
• Placement of sealant or cavity preventative agents such asfluorides
• Placement of temporary fillings and periodontal dressings
• Smoothing and polishing silver amalgam restorations
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered License for the state in whichpracticing.
• A minimum of one year experience as a Dental HygienistPreferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice 
• Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation) 
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
• Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site 
• Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements  
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required  
• Computer proficiency required 
• Must be at least 18 years of age
