Special Education Teacher | School-Based | Lovington, NM | Full-Time | 25-Week Contract | $50/hr or $2,000+/week Travel Pay

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide quality services to students in grades K–12. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the teacher will plan and implement individualized student programs, provide special instruction, tutorial assistance, and collaborate with general education staff. This role supports high school students in a medium group behavioral classroom setting.

Position Overview

• Location: Lovington, NM

• Start Date: November 10, 2025

• End Date: May 22, 2026

• Duration: 25 weeks

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, ~7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

• Hours per Week: 37.5 hours

• Openings: 1 position available

• Pay Rate: $50/hour or $2,000+ weekly in travel pay

• Modality: In-person

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and case management for high school students

• Implement individualized education programs (IEPs)

• Collaborate with general education staff and classroom support teams

• Manage classroom behavior and provide de-escalation support

• Document student progress in compliance with professional standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

• Valid state teaching certificate (required)

• At least one year of teaching experience (preferred)

• Certifications: Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred)

• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

• Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements

• Current CPR certification, if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable

• Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must be at least 18 years of age
