Special Education Teacher (SPED) | School-Based | Colorado Springs, CO | $54/hr Local | $2,260/week Travelers | Full-Time | 25/26 School Year

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking Special Education Teachers to provide quality services to students in kindergarten through grade 12. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the SPED Teacher will deliver instruction, tutorial assistance, and collaborate with general education staff to support student success. Multiple openings are available across elementary and high school settings, ranging from mild to severe programs.

Position Overview

  • Location: Academy School District, near Colorado Springs, CO

  • Start Date: December 1, 2025 (ASAP)

  • Duration: 25/26 school year (36 weeks)

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 student contact hours per week

  • Openings: 5 positions available

  • Pay Rate: $54/hr (local) | $2,260/week (travelers, including stipends)

  • Interview: Client interview required

  • Modality: In-person, school-based

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction and support to special education students (K–12)

  • Participate in team planning and implementation of student programs

  • Deliver special instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff

  • Document services and ensure compliance with district and professional standards

  • Collaborate with parents, staff, and administrators to promote student achievement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred

  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with Special Education Generalist Endorsement (or eligibility to obtain)

  • Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred

  • State Teacher Certification: Elementary, Secondary, and Special Education preferred

  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

  • Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements

  • Current CPR, TB screening, and health certificate (if applicable)

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
