Life Skills Special Education Teacher | $45/hr | Waco, TX | 2025–2026 School Year

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support a Life Skills classroom in Waco, TX. This full-time, in-person role begins ASAP and runs through May 23, 2026. The position serves a caseload of 10 students with support from two instructional aides.

Position Details

• Location: Waco, TX

• Start Date: ASAP (Estimated: November 10, 2025)

• End Date: May 23, 2026

• Duration: 36 weeks

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:00 PM (tentative)

• Hours: 37.5/week

• Pay Rate: $45/hr

• Modality: In-person

• Caseload: 10 students

• Support Staff: 2 instructional aides

• Interview Format: Virtual

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and support for students in a Life Skills classroom

• Collaborate with general education staff to implement individualized programs

• Manage IEPs, student progress, and classroom compliance

• Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment tailored to student needs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

• Valid Texas teaching certificate (SPED endorsement preferred)

• Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)

• CPR certification, TB/PPD clearance, and health certificate as applicable

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
