Amergis Educational Staffing is hiring multiple full-time Special Education Teachers to support elementary and high school classrooms in the Widefield School District in Southern Colorado Springs. These in-person roles begin ASAP and run through the entire 2025–2026 school year. Openings span mild to severe settings, including center-based autism and SSN classrooms, resource roles, and a floater position.

Position Details

  • Location: Southern Colorado Springs, CO

  • District: Widefield School District

  • Start Date: November 3, 2025

  • Duration: 36 weeks (2025–2026 school year)

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 student contact hours/week

  • Pay Rate: $55/hr local or $2,310.50/week travel

  • Openings: 4

  • Settings:

    • Center-Based Autism – Elementary

    • Center-Based SSN – Elementary

    • Resource – High School

    • Resource Floater – Long-Term Coverage

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction and support across K–12 settings

  • Collaborate with general education staff and multidisciplinary teams

  • Develop and implement IEPs

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

  • Support students in academic, behavioral, and life skill development

  • Participate in planning, team meetings, and district initiatives

Requirements

  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with Special Education Generalist Endorsement (required)

  • Pending licenses accepted with proof of application within 5 days of offer

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

  • Minimum one year of experience in special education settings

  • Experience in center-based autism, SSN, and resource classrooms must be reflected on resume

  • CPR certification, TB/PPD clearance, and health certificate as applicable

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
