Job Title:Correctional Nurse – MAT Program (RN)

  • Location: Arlington County Jail
  • Job Type: Part-Time Weekends

Job Description:

Join a mission-driven healthcare teamproviding Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services to individualsin custody. As a Correctional Nurse (RN or LPN) specializing in MAT,you’ll play a vital role in supporting recovery from substance use disorderswithin a secure and structured environment. This position offers a uniqueopportunity to deliver compassionate care, promote rehabilitation, and reducerecidivism through evidence-based treatment.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Administer MAT medications (e.g., methadone, buprenorphine) per protocol
  • Monitor patients for side effects and treatment response
  • Conduct assessments and document patient progress
  • Collaborate with behavioral health providers, custody staff, and medical teams
  • Educate patients on MAT, addiction recovery, and medication adherence
  • Support crisis intervention and withdrawal management
  • Maintain compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of Virginia
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in correctional or med pass treatment settings
  • Active BLS certification
  • TB screening (PPD, chest x-ray, or questionnaire as applicable)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Weekend availability required
  • Flexibility to travel or relocate for the duration of the assignment
