About the Role:
We are seeking apassionate and qualified Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) toprovide specialized instruction and support to students virtually. This remoteposition offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by deliveringindividualized educational services through virtual platforms, ensuring accessand equity for students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teams, and families to support student learning and inclusion
- Utilize assistive technology and virtual tools to enhance communication and instruction
- Conduct assessments and contribute to IEP development and progress monitoring
- Offer consultation and training to school staff on hearing loss accommodations and communication strategies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
MinimumQualifications:
- Valid North Carolina teaching license with endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in virtual or hybrid settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Comfortable using virtual platforms and assistive technology for instruction
