About the Role:

We are seeking apassionate and qualified Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) toprovide specialized instruction and support to students virtually. This remoteposition offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by deliveringindividualized educational services through virtual platforms, ensuring accessand equity for students with hearing impairments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

 

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teams, and families to support student learning and inclusion

 

  • Utilize assistive technology and virtual tools to enhance communication and instruction

 

  • Conduct assessments and contribute to IEP development and progress monitoring

 

  • Offer consultation and training to school staff on hearing loss accommodations and communication strategies

 

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines

 

 

MinimumQualifications:

 

  • Valid North Carolina teaching license with endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing

 

  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in virtual or hybrid settings

 

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred

 

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

 

  • Comfortable using virtual platforms and assistive technology for instruction
