Special Education Teacher - $50/hour

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs and creating inclusive educational environments. This position serves students with disabilities across a range of instructional settings, including resource, inclusion, and self-contained classrooms.

Qualifications:

• Required:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • LBS1 Endorsement (Learning Behavior Specialist 1)
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IEP development and implementation
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies

• Preferred:

  • Experience working with students with high-incidence and low-incidence disabilities
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and inclusive practices

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Provide specialized instruction aligned with students’ needs and IEP goals
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and federal regulations
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment
