Job Posting: Mental Health Clinician

Location: Correctional Facility in Billerica, MA

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Contract Duration: 26 weeks (extension highly likely)
Salary: $55–$60/hour, based on experience

Position Overview:

Amergis Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Clinician (MHC) to provide behavioral health services within a correctional facility in Billerica, MA. This role involves conducting mental health assessments, developing treatment plans, providing therapy, and supporting discharge planning for individuals in custody. The MHC will be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering compassionate and effective care in a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mental health assessments and create individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide ongoing therapy and crisis intervention.
  • Evaluate individuals at risk for suicide or self-harm.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with facility staff to support mental health needs.
  • Deliver weekly training to staff on mental illness and suicide prevention.
  • Assist with discharge planning and referrals to community-based services.
  • Participate in clinical meetings and contribute to program development.

Working Conditions:

  • Work inside a correctional facility, including holidays.
  • Direct contact with incarcerated individuals.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking.
  • Exposure to potentially stressful or confrontational situations.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree required; post-graduate experience preferred.
  • Must hold one of the following licenses: LMHC, LCSW, or LICSW.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and comprehensive records.
  • Valid driver’s license.
