As a professional practitioner, the RN – Telemetry assumesthe responsibility and accountability for delivery of patient care of telemetrypatients. The RN – Telemetry demonstrates the ability to make clinicaljudgments in an effective and efficient manner, with supervision.  The RN – Telemetry exhibits critical thinkingand performance ability in the coordination of patient care, and consistentlyperforms according to nursing standards while remaining accountable forproviding patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse license for the state in which thenurse practices
  • One year experience in Telemetry Preferred
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age 

Telemetry Registered Nurse(RN)

The Telemetry RN isa highly skilled nursing professional responsible for monitoring and caring forpatients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions. This role demands strongclinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly tochanges in patient status. The Tele RN works closely with physicians andinterdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care in afast-paced environment.

 

Essential Duties andResponsibilities

  • Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring
  • Perform detailed patient assessments, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and health histories
  • Monitor telemetry equipment and interpret cardiac rhythms, identifying and responding to abnormalities
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards
  • Respond promptly to emergencies such as arrhythmias, rapid deterioration, or code situations
  • Support patient advocacy and uphold patient rights and confidentiality
  • Minimum Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice
  • Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; Telemetry experience preferred
  • Completion of Amergis’ Competency Program (if applicable)
  • Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
  • TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation)
  • Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Successful completion of new hire orientation and telemetry training
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
