Schedule: 37.5 Hours/Week
Pay:

• Local: $70/hr
• Travel: $55/hr + $20/hr stipend (lodging & meals)

Position Overview:

Amergis is seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to support students with mild to moderate disabilities in Buellton, CA. This role involves delivering specialized instruction in both general education and special education settings, ensuring students receive a meaningful and inclusive educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise students at all times during school hours and activities.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with timelines.
• Collaborate with general and special educators, related service providers, and families.
• Provide direct instruction in communication, daily living, socialization, and transition skills.
• Train and assign tasks to instructional support staff; contribute to performance evaluations.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
• Participate in school-wide programs and student activities.
• Maintain accurate records (grades, attendance, IEPs, progress reports).
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff.
• Attend meetings and professional development sessions as required.
• Uphold professional conduct, confidentiality, and dress standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
• Valid California Mild/Moderate Credential
• Prior experience in special education preferred
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and accept feedback professionally
