Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Correctional Facility | Boston, MA

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is working with a respected correctional facility in Boston, MA, to fill a full-time LPN position. This is a great opportunity for nurses seeking a dynamic environment with a consistent schedule and competitive pay.

Position Details:

  • Location: Boston, MA
  • Facility Type: Correctional Facility
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks to start, with strong potential for extension
  • Schedule: Rotating
    • Week 1: Sunday 2:45 PM – 7:15 AM; Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM
    • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM
  • Compensation:
    • Local: $48/hour
    • Travel: $2,200 gross/week
  • Parking: No on-site parking. Nearby garage available at $500/month. Reimbursement up to $300/month provided.

Job Responsibilities:

  • General nursing duties including medication administration, triage, and risk assessments
  • Assist physicians with medical treatments
  • Apply surgical dressings and bandages
  • Provide emergency first aid care
  • Monitor and record vital signs
  • Collect specimens for diagnostic testing
  • Document patient reactions to treatments and changes in condition
  • Educate patients and assist with discharge planning
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Foster a therapeutic and respectful environment for inmate patients
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Active LPN license in the state of Massachusetts
  • Minimum of 1 year of correctional healthcare experience preferred (new grads considered)
  • Current CPR certification
  • TB screening (PPD, questionnaire, or chest X-ray as applicable)
  • Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulations)
  • Compliance with all professional standards of practice
