Position Summary:

Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to lead a semi-self-contained classroom for middle school students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, foster a supportive learning environment, and collaborate with general education staff to ensure student success across settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Deliver differentiated instruction in core subjects (e.g., ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies) within a semi-self-contained setting.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion opportunities and co-teaching models.
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and state standards.
  • Communicate regularly with families, related service providers, and support staff.
  • Create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence and self-advocacy.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain compliance with IDEAstate regulations, and district policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid New Hampshire teaching certification in Special Education (e.g., K–8 or 5–12).
  • Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders).
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instructionbehavioral supports, and assistive technology.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Hours: 
7:15-2:15 Monday-Friday
