Amergis Educational Staffing is looking for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)  for the 2025-2026 school year!

Location: Fayetteville, NC

Contract Length: 2025–2026 School Year

Employment Type: Full Time

Start Date: August 25, 2025



Position Summary:
The Registered/Certified Behavior Technician (RBT/CBT) supports the implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for students with special needs. Working under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the technician collaborates with school staff and behavioral specialists to help students achieve their educational and behavioral goals. This role is essential in promoting positive behavior, skill development, and academic success in a school-based setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the direction of a BCBA.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with behavioral and developmental needs.
  • Collect and record data on student behavior and skill acquisition.
  • Assist in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and skill assessments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support student progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification and/or State Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) license (as applicable per state/contract) 
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required) 
  • Associate’s degree in behavioral studies or related field (preferred) 
  • At least one (1) year of relevant experience (preferred) and/or two (2) years preferred for more complex cases 
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable) 

Certification Maintenance:
  • RBTs must complete a 40-hour training program, pass a competency assessment, and pass the RBT exam administered by a BCBA.
  • Certification must be renewed every two years.
  • RBTs must receive supervision at least twice per month by a BCBA.
