Special Education Teacher

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of theSpecial Education Program Administrator provides quality services to specialeducation students, kindergarten through grade 12.  The Special Education Teacher has a commitmentto team participation in planning and implementation of student programsincluding special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation withgeneral education staff.  

Position: Early Childhood Special Education Teacher Location: Lompoc, CA (Santa Barbara County) Employer: Backstage Health (Contracted with local school district) Type: Full-Time, In-Person |  Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours/week Start Date: August 2025

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a core member of the IEP Planning Team

• Assess and support early learners with special needs

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with state and federal standards

• Collaborate with families, general education teachers, and support staff

• Maintain compliance with documentation and reporting requirements

Qualifications:

• Valid California Education Specialist Credential in Early Childhood Special Education (or equivalent)

• Experience working with preschool-aged children with disabilities

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Passion for early intervention and inclusive education
