Certified School Counselor (25/26 School Year)

Position Detail:

• Schedule: Monday-Friday
• Start Date: August 2025
• Length of Contract: 2025-26 school year (high possibility of extension into the following school year and option to go internal directly with school)

Position Overview:

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking compassionate and qualified School Counselors to support students’ emotional and mental well-being across our 11 school locations. This is a position for the upcoming Fall 2025 school year. While specific site needs are still being finalized, we are actively onboarding professionals who are open to working in Clearwater/Pinellas, Tampa, or Pasco.

As a School Counselor, you will provide direct counseling services to students, support mental health initiatives, and collaborate with school staff to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students
• Address mental health concerns and support emotional development
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Support crisis intervention and referral processes

Minimum Requirements:

• Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) School Counselor Certification (Required)
• 2+ years of experience in a school or youth-focused mental health setting
• Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Nursing, or related Human Development field (Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s depending on state/facility requirements)
• Current CPR certification (if applicable)
• TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
• Current Health Certificate (as required by contract or state)
• Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
