Position Summary:
The Floater/Substitute Behavior Technician (BT) provides flexible, on-call support to educational and behavioral programs for children and adults with special needs. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are comfortable stepping into various settings to support clients and teams as needed. The BT collaborates with educators, therapists, and other behavioral specialists to implement individualized behavior intervention plans and promote skill development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 behavioral support to clients in school, home, or community settings.
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs as directed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Collect and record accurate data on client progress and behaviors.
- Adapt quickly to new environments and client needs as a substitute or floater.
- Maintain a professional and supportive demeanor with clients, families, and staff.
- Communicate effectively with supervising clinicians and team members.
- Ensure a safe and positive environment for all clients.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent (required).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with pediatric populations (preferred).
- Experience with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Certifications:
- Current CPR certification (if applicable).
- TB test clearance (questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray as applicable).
- Legal Requirements:
- Must meet all federal, state, and local employment and background check requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Availability:
- Flexible schedule with availability to work on short notice.
- Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
