Amergis Is seeking highly skilled RN Psych for a position in Denver, CO 80230.

Position Description

Psychiatric/Mental Health (RN)

The Psychiatric/Mental Health-Registered Nurse requires a comprehensive range of nursing, psychosocial, and neurobiological expertise. PMH nurses promote well-being through prevention and education, as well as the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. The nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments effectively and efficiently, showcasing critical thinking and performance skills in the coordination of patient care. The PMH RN works in various settings, providing comprehensive care to individuals, families, and communities when applicable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a psychiatric facility setting.
  • Partner with individuals to achieve their recovery goals.
  • Provide health promotion and maintenance.
  • Conduct intake screening, evaluation, and triage.
  • Provide case management.
  • Teach self-care activities.
  • Administer and monitor psychobiological treatment regimens.
  • Practice crisis intervention and stabilization.
  • Engage in psychiatric rehabilitation and intervention.
  • Educate patients, families, and communities.
  • Coordinate care within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Evaluate signs and symptoms indicating physiological and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Identify and prioritize actions based on patient care requirements.
  • Provide a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment.
  • Revise the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in psychiatric and medical plans, and effective/ineffective nursing interventions.
  • Maintain strong awareness and understanding of suicide prevention.
  • Understand community resources and outpatient programs for mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Adhere to Facility/Client procedures and protocols at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned/necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the state of practice.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification if applicable.
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to the job site.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Shift: Nights (6 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.)
  • Hours/Week: 36 hours – Must be open to weekends (non-negotiable). Flexibility with working days is required. Candidates must be willing to work any three days as requested. No extra RTO will be given outside of the submission, and no special requests to work certain days will be accommodated.
  • Feedback Time: Please allow 48-72 hours for feedback (due to holiday, expect an update next week).
  • GTE or Shift Cancellation Policy: 36 hours.

Notes:

Eating Recovery Center works with a variety of patients battling eating disorders and other mental health conditions. This is a hospital-like setting on a smaller scale, with inpatient, outpatient, and residential units. Nurses with a background in psych do well here, and those with acute care (MS, ER, ICU, PEDS) or urgent care experience are preferred. Patients range in age from pediatrics to adults, so candidates must be comfortable working with both populations. Availability for weekends and working during Christmas and New Year’s is required.

Eating disorders at this facility typically result from more severe mental health crises, such as suicidal ideations and borderline personality disorders. Candidates must be willing to float to all facilities, with the main site location being Willow.

Pay Package:

·         Travel Pay Rate: $25/hr x 36hrs= $900wk

·         Weekly Allowances: $1,624 (Meals $553wk and Housing $1,071wk)

·         Total Weekly Paycheck Gross: $2,524wk
