Position Description:
The Team Lead supervises a team ofBillers and Collectors for the Region, and is responsible for managing allaspects of the billing process. Additionally, this individual actively monitorsthe Accounts Receivable (A/R) aging.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
- Supervises billing and collections activities for thespecified district/region with a team of five to ten Billers, Collectors,and/or Reimbursement Specialists
- Through servant leadership, continuously assess eachteam members training needs and train each team members on all parts of theirjob, as needed.
- Follows-up regularly and timely to ensure all teammembers complete their assignments daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Ensures quality processes are followed and communicated
- Collaborates and provides continuous and ongoingfeedback to team members, peers, partners, and manager for the purpose ofimproving Maxim and relationships.
- Developsteam members using individual development plans, role specific competencies,mentorship, stretch assignments, andestablish succession plans.
- Collects on over90 day accounts and other escalated accounts, as needed. Keep manager informedof any potential issues that would impact cashflow.
- Organizesand maintains daily operations, plans for future workflow, and creates the teamschedule
- Ensures a high levelof customer service for our branch offices, clients and payer partners
- Acts as a subject matter expert with assigned statesand/or payers
- Performs root cause analysis of denials and otherpayment issues.
- InformsManager of potential Cash and A/R impact due to payer or claims issues, anddevelops solutions to issue
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- High School degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with commercial insurance required
- Must have experience in healthcare reimbursement, withat least two years of supervisory experiencepreferred
- Strongcustomer service skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handlemultiple tasks, while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediateproficiency in Excel
- Ability to handle difficult situations in a positiveand professional manner
- Excellent coachingskills and abilityto motivate team members to reach their goals and potential
- Availablefor occasional travel to off-site meetings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
