Job Opportunity: Associate Clinical Therapist 

Position Overview: The individual will be covering current staff member while they are on Maternity Leave from 5/30-10/6.

Pay rate: $30-35/hr, (overtime pay offered) 

Location: Escondido, CA 

Schedule Options:

4 days 10 hour shifts – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8am-6:30pm or 7:30am-6:00pm

or

5 days 8 hour shifts – Monday thru Friday (8am-4:30pm) also available if preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct intake assessments and prepare diagnostic evaluations, including obtaining personal, social, emotional, and substance abuse history.

Determine medical necessity and level of care placement for Substance Use Disorder treatment services.

Develop, evaluate, and implement goal-oriented treatment plans.

Provide direct treatment services such as individual, family, and group therapy to a complex client population.

Intervene in crisis situations when a client exhibits acute psychiatric symptoms that present an immediate threat to the client or others.

Provide rehabilitative and socialization services to restore and maintain the best possible functional level of clients with chronic psychological impairments.

Provide consultation to other staff members on a client’s history, mental status, previous treatment, and community resources available for treatment.

Participate in staff review of cases; recommend changes in therapeutic techniques, environment, and/or charting to facilitate client recovery.

Strictly adhere to participant confidentiality as required by County, State, and Federal (42 CFR) regulations.

Assist clients and their families in understanding the nature of their mental or emotional disorder; provide emotional support and information to help identify external stressors contributing to the client’s problems.

Prepare case documentation, progress reports, special reports, proposals, manuals, and correspondence.

Perform specialized tasks including involuntary hospitalization procedures (5150) and Tarasoff assessments.

Provide guidance to volunteers and staff.

Participate in mental health conferences and local area committees.

Serve as a consultant or trainer for staff on complex client placement and mental health issues.

Recommend when to terminate professional counseling treatment; develop follow-up and/or revised post-treatment techniques and activities.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience / Education:

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Health, or related field, required.

Must be currently registered with the State of California as Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an Associate Marriage Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Social Worker (ASW), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC).

2+ years of experience working in a social service or counseling-related field, required.

Experience working with substance abuse disorders, preferred.

Please note that this pay range represents a good faith estimate of the compensation that will be offered for this position based on the circumstances. The actual pay offered to a successful candidate will take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to location, experience, and other variable factors.
